Fawkner Health Care is a well-established and highly regarded medical practice operating in Fawkner. We are currently seeking an experienced, motivated, and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our friendly and supportive team on a full-time basis . This role is ideal for a nurse with general practice experience who enjoys delivering high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with GPs and administrative staff, and contributing to a positive and efficient clinical environment. Key Responsibilities: Clinical responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Administering vaccinations and immunisations , including childhood, flu, COVID-19, and travel vaccines Conducting health assessments and clinical checks , including: Chronic Disease Management support 75 Health Assessments Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Assessments Care plans and care plan reviews Preparing for and administering iron infusions and other IV therapies in accordance with clinical protocols Performing ECGs, spirometry, wound care, dressings, and suture removal Recording and monitoring vital signs and clinical observations Assisting GPs with minor procedures and ensuring clinical rooms are appropriately prepared Recalling and following up patients for results, vaccinations, and ongoing management Maintaining accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation Managing cold chain procedures , vaccine stock control, and infection prevention protocols Ensuring compliance with RACGP accreditation standards , infection control, and clinical governance requirements Working closely with reception staff to ensure smooth day-to-day practice operations Opening and closing clinical rooms as required by roster The role requires the ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks in a busy clinical environment, and contribute positively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Our Ideal Candidate Will Have: Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) Previous experience working as a Practice Nurse in an Australian general practice (strongly preferred) Experience using Medical Director / PracSoft or similar practice management software Strong clinical assessment and organisational skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills A professional, compassionate, and patient-focused approach Ability to work independently with initiative and collaboratively within a team Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment Current Police Check and DHS Working with Children Check Current CPR certification and up-to-date immunisations (or willingness to obtain) Employment Details: Job Type: Full-time Days: Monday to Friday Location: In person – Fawkner Work Remotely: No If you are an experienced Registered Nurse looking to join a professional, supportive general practice where high-quality patient care is valued, we would love to hear from you.
